Japanese Pair Buddhist Altar Fitting Hanging Lantern Butsugu
This is a vintage Japanese Buddhist brass hanging lantern, or rinto, made to be hung in Buddhist altars (butsugu). This brass lantern is brown in color and has minimal design detail. This set features small weights in the shape of cranes (tsuru). Rinto is a brass lantern used to light up the inside of a Buddhist altar with candles, and sometimes can be made electric. It is also a beautiful decorative item on its own.
