Antique Japanese Soldier Portrait Photograph
This is an antique Taisho Era young soldier portrait photograph in black and white. Often times portraits of soldiers were taken in full-dress before deployment as a keepsake for the family should they not return home. As many soldiers were conscripted straight out of school, and the greying of the line between school uniform and military uniform disappeared became obvious, this could also be a school/graduation portrait. It comes adhered to the original thick, decorative paper card.
