Vtg Japanese Inkstone Suzuri Sumi Grinding for Calligraphy Shodo Shuji
This is a vintage Japanese inkstone, suzuri, used for grinding sumi and holding ink. It is a necessary tool in calligraphy (shodo) and traditional penmanship (shuji). It is made of a reddish-brown stone and known as Akama suzuri. The top and the bottom surfaces are smooth, and the side has a natural stone texture.
