Vintage Japanese Wooden Noh Mask Wall Hanging
This is a vintage Japanese wooden noh mask (noh-men) attached to a wooden board. This character is the face of a woman named Okame or Otafuku. Okame is a smiling woman with a round face, a low and round nose, drooping hair, and round and protruding cheeks (high cheeks). She is said to bring happiness and good fortune to any man she marries. This mask has two large orange tassels as well as a cord for hanging as well as a small hyotan gourd talisman which is said to keep out negativity. It can be used for all kinds of home and office decor.
