Japanese Calligraphy Brush
This is a vintage Japanese calligraphy brush, or fude in Japanese. The bamboo handle features blue and red inscriptions and a sticker. There is a loop at the end of the brush to facilitate hanging.
Brushes are traditionally used for Japanese calligraphy (Shodo) and for practicing Japanese character handwriting (Shuji). They can also be used for traditional Nihonga paintings.
