Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Metal Bell
It is a Japanese vintage Buddhist altar fitting "Shogo". It is a metal bell used during worship. It is usually placed on a tatami mat stand and struck with a Shimoku stick to make a sound. It is used to keep the rhythm during nembutsu. (Used in the Tendai, Shingon, and Jodo sects)
