Antique Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Lacquer Offering Table 

This is an antique Japanese Buddhist altar offering table (Maejyoku). It is coated with gold, red, and black lacquer. It contains two removable tabletop pieces. The edges are decorated with floral patterned bronze metal.
In the case of memorial services, a piece of cloth called Uchishiki is inserted here. There are two types of offering tables Maejyoku and Uwajyoku. Maejoku is placed in front of the Shumidan. It is used for 3 Gusoku (candle stand, flower vase, and incense burner). Uwajoku is placed in front of Amidanyorai. It is used for a flower vase, a rice cup, and a kasha incense burner.
