Japanese Brushed Lacquered Wooden Tansu Storage Chest

This is a Japanese storage chest, also called tansu. Colored a dark brown color with wood stain, this small chest has two similar-sized drawers with simple metal hardware. The insides of the drawers are lined with a red velvet-like fabric. All corners of the box have black metal accents. Uniquely, this box also has a slide-out small bookshelf. This beautiful tansu chest can be used for storing sewing supplies, jewelry, or other trinkets.
