Japanese Go Board Game Goban
This is a vintage Goban, or go board, used to play the popular strategy board game Igo, or Go. This sturdy 19x19 grid game board in a beautiful medium golden brown wood color rests on 4 removable legs, creating a small table that is typically used on the floor. It has brown and yellow fabric socks that tie with purple cords over the legs of the goban to protect the legs from damage and also any tatami or wood floor it may sit on.
Black and white stones are used as game pieces by two players. By placing the stones on the intersections of lines on a go board, the goal of the game is to section off a larger portion of the board as the other player.
