Vintage Japanese Folding Fan Case
This is a vintage Japanese folding fan case/carrying sleeve, or sensubukuro. This case is made specifically for a maisen, or performing fan and has a long tapered shape. It is made from blue and white chirimen silk fabric with a ripple design. Inside is a beige-colored silk lining. The top folds over and keeps closed with a silk purple tie and plastic toggle.
