Vtg Japanese Setting File Metate Yasuri for Carpentry 

This is a vintage Japanese setting file, metate-yasuri, for woodworking. It is used for sharpening the blades of saws. The cross section of the file is a diamond shape, which makes the file edges slope downward. This shape is excellent for sharpening saws.
