Japanese Tea Caddy Natsume for Tea Ceremony
This vintage Japanese matcha lidded tea caddy, called natsume, is an important addition to any traditional tea ceremony set. Made of lightweight resin, it is a deep brown color with a gold and silver makie paulownia floral design on the lid and on the side.
It is used to hold enough matcha powder for the guests at the ceremony, however, it is not a sealed long-term storage container, and the design and size is chosen based on the ceremony type, season, or simply personal preference.
