Vintage Japanese Porcelain Large Plate
This is a vintage Japanese decorative porcelain plate. This large round plate (ozara) is red, blue, and white with a detailed image of gray carp swimming in the water beneath pine trees. The border has a combination of chrysanthemum and paulownia flowers with gold accents. This plate has a scalloped edge and comes with a black wooden stand and the original paper box.
These large plates are mainly used for sushi and sashimi presentation, for centerpieces, for general display, and sometimes are used as a charger plate/trivet for nabe pots or for serving raw vegetables and meat for a hotpot meal.
