Vtg Japanese Pottery Sake Bottle Kayoi-Tokkuri
This is a Japanese vintage sake bottle. This bottle is in gray color and has a guardian lion Shisa face design on one side and a dragon face on the other side. The Shisa and the dragon are a brown and green glossy glaze. This type of sake bottle is from Okinawa. This sake bottle has a label on it.
Also called a Kayoi-Tokkuri, this type of bottle is used to pour sake. The commuting sake bottle became popular as a rental container for liquor stores in the Edo period when sake began to be consumed on a daily basis.
