Japanese Lacquered Wooden Haribako Sewing Chest
This is a Japanese sewing box, also called Haribako. Lacquered with classic glossy black, it is decorated with a makie flower and leaves. The center of the flower also contains raden (mother-of-pearl/abalone shell). This tansu chest has two drawers with decorative metal hardware. This beautiful piece can also be used for storing sewing supplies, jewelry, or other trinkets.
