Vintage Japanese Lacquered Wooden Makie Plate

This item is a vintage Japanese lacquered wooden round small plate. It is in an elegant glossy dark red, adorned with a design two yellow and gray squares where gold birds are flying. The design also features silver color accents. This small round plate is black on the back. 
This lightweight round plate is the ideal size for serving small food and desserts. This type of plate, called Meimeizara, is also used during tea ceremonies for wagashi sweets. It is perfect for decoration as well as for entertaining.

  • Good condition. Lacquer peels on the outer edge, spot missing on the inside of the plate. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos carefully.
