Japanese Lacquered Wooden Haribako Sewing Chest
This is a Japanese sewing box, also called Haribako. Coated with a striking deep reddish-brown lacquer and with the unique kamakurabori hammered/scaled pattern, it is decorated with bold hand-carved flowers and leaves. It has 6 same-size drawers with simple metal hardware. This beautiful towering tansu chest can also be used for storing sewing supplies, jewelry, or other trinkets.
