This is a Japanese katsuobushi shaving tool called kezuriki. It assists in shaving hard and dry blocks of bonito to make bonito flakes used in making dashi stock and as toppings for popular Japanese dishes. This piece consists of a removable kanna plane (typically used for woodworking), a wooden box frame, and a drawer. The shaved flakes fall into a small drawer to be collected. The lid is missing.
