Vtg Japanese Wall Hanging Decor

This is an Ainu folk handicraft made in Hokkaido, Japan. The faces of a man and a woman are carved on a piece of wood. There is a string on the back for hanging on the wall. From the 17th to the 19th century, the Ainu people inhabited a wide area from northern Tohoku to Hokkaido.
