Vtg Japanese Small Tatami Display Stand
This Japanese vintage miniature tatami mat is a small display stand for Hina dolls and other similar-sized figurines. It is square, appearing the same on both sides. It features natural tatami color and silk fabric edge pieces to protect exposed sides and keep them from fraying or snagging. It is the perfect size for small Hina dolls, zodiac figurines, and even for vases.
The Hinamatsuri (Doll's Festival) in Japan is a traditional event celebrated on March 3rd every year. Its purpose is primarily to wish for the healthy growth and happiness of girls. Hina dolls are an essential part of the festival and are prominently displayed in homes during it.
