Antique Japanese Ceramic Herb Grinder
This is a Japanese antique C1900 ceramic herb grinder. It is used for compounding herbal medicine. This is made of ceramic. Medicinal herbs were placed in a deep V-shaped vessel, and a roller was rolled back and forth to crush the herbs into small pieces to make medicine. This tool is called Yagen in Japan.
