Vtg Japanese Hanging Scroll Kakejiku

This is a vintage Japanese hang scroll Kakejiku. This is a painting of sparrows and camellias by Taigen Yokoyama. He graduated from the Japanese painting department of the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. In the early Showa period, he was adopted by Taikan Yokoyama. Kakejiku is a Japanese picture or calligraphy mounted on a piece of paper. Kakejiku was a tool to spread Buddhism in Japan. It has been integrated with Japanese culture as interior decoration. Tokokake is used at the Tokonoma in tatami room. Chakake has Zen words used in the tea ceremony room. Buddha-kake is used in the Buddhist altar.
