Vintage Japanese Standing Ouchi Lantern for Obon Festival w/Box
This is a vintage Japanese electric Ouchi lantern. Ouchi lanterns are standing lanterns with three legs that are displayed during the summer Obon festival to commemorate ancestors. The woven fabric lantern is white and has an elegant design of blue and purple chrysanthemums and morning glories and fits snuggly on its black plastic frame with gold floral designs. It fits semi-flat in its original box. It has an electric light with a plastic blue covering that spins when the lightbulb becomes warm. There are blue tassels on the bottom as well as two long blue tassels (one is lighter blue than the other) that hang from the top piece.
