 Japanese Wooden Kokeshi Doll

This vintage Japanese wooden kokeshi doll has a classic design (round head, cylindrical body). The body is straight with a tapered neck, and it is painted with red lines that depict a kimono. The facial expression is youthful and curious, and it is surrounded by tufts of black painted hair and extra red details to match the body. It has been brushed with a clear lacquer coating to give it shine. 
Kokeshi dolls are traditional toys, figurines, and charms crafted from wood that are an excellent decorative representation of Japanese craftsmanship and traditional culture.
