Vtg. Japanese Ceramic Kotatsu Heater Okigotatsu
This is a vintage Japanese portable kotatsu heater. It is ceramic, both shell and brazier, and is made for placing underneath a blanket-covered table to keep legs and toes warm in the colder months. The brazier bowl is filled with hot coals. This particular style is called okigotatsu and is often paired with a vented wooden cage to prevent accidental burns and fires from cracking coals.
