Vintage Japanese Ceramic Bowl
This is a vintage Japanese ceramic small bowl (kobachi). Glazed with lightly textured beige and gray colors, this bowl is in the shape of a teardrop. This type of bowl is generally used for retrieving food from nabe hot pot, shabu shabu, or other shared dishes. It is to catch any drips or be used as a dipping bowl (as in the case of shabu shabu). The tapered part of the rim is to grip like a handle for easy lifting and maneuvering at the dining table.
