Vintage Japanese Wooden Statue
This is a vintage Japanese carved wooden statue of four monkeys stacked on top of a turtle. The three monkeys at the top are inspired by the popular figure of the three wise monkeys covering their ears, mouth, and eyes, but for this actual statue, the monkeys are not covering their body parts but placing their hands close to them to increase their hearing, voice, and sight. This wooden statue is carved from one solid piece of wood, and the base is squared for stability.
