Vtg Japanese Wooden Daikokuten Statue

This is a vintage Japanese statue of Daikokuten, one of the Seven Lucky Gods (shichifukujin). This statue is intricately carved from a solid, natural piece of wood and brushed with a clear lacquer finish for shine.

Daikokuten is the deity that symbolizes wealth and commerce and is often depicted holding a mallet, a sack, and standing on bales of rice. In this version, he is standing atop bales of rice and holding a large coin and a sack.
