Japanese Calligraphy Brush
This is a vintage Japanese calligraphy brush, or fude in Japanese. There are some inscriptions on the brown wooden handle. This brush is medium size. It is called Churyu and the brand is Seiundoh.
Brushes are traditionally used for Japanese calligraphy (Shodo) and for practicing Japanese character handwriting (Shuji). They can also be used for traditional Nihonga paintings.
