This is a Japanese rice offering cup, Buppanki, made for use in a Buddhist altar. This cup is small and made of brass metal in a natural gold color. The rice offered to Buddhist altars is called “Buppan”. Other things such as sake, mochi, etc are also offered at home and temple altars.
