Japanese Buddhist Offering Stand Kuge
This is a vintage offering stand called Kuge for the Buddhist altar in Japan. Cut in a floral shape with a removable top piece resembling a flower, it is made of resin. It is colored black and painted gold on half. It is a utensil for offering rice cakes, fruits, rakugan sweets, etc, and is mainly used by the Jodo Shinshu Honganji sect of Buddhism.
