Vintage Japanese Buddhist Incense Container Kogo
This is a vintage Japanese incense container, or Kogo, used in Buddhist altars. A kogo is a small container with a lid and is used for keeping powder-type or woodchip-type incense for Buddhist ceremonies. It is a dark brown color with a gold design on the lid. The inside is gold and has an inscription. The lid sits flush and loosely on the top.
