Vtg Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Candle Set
This is a vintage Japanese Buddhist altar-fitting, Candle set. A white candle with Kanji written as "The 750th Memorial Service, Takadahonzan, Senshuji temple" (開山聖人７５０回遠忌報恩大法会). There are 10 candles about 6.5 centimeters in length. The lid says Akari. Burning time is about 40 minutes. Lighted candles offer prayers to the Buddha, ancestors, and the deceased at the Buddhist altar. In Buddhism, lighting a candle means that light is wisdom, and a candle means that all life will eventually come to an end.
