This is a vintage Japanese Buddhist altar-fitting, Candle set. There are 62 candles about 6 centimeters in length. The lid says 20 minutes burning time, Daruma 90g, Gyokukou, Nihon Kodo. Lighted candles offer prayers to the Buddha, ancestors, and the deceased at the Buddhist altar. In Buddhism, lighting a candle means that light is wisdom, and a candle means that all life will eventually come to an end.
