Japanese Pair Buddhist Altar Fitting Hanging Lantern Butsugu w/Box

This is a vintage Japanese Buddhist brass hanging lantern, or rinto, made to be hung in buddhist altars (butsugu). It is a bright brass gold color with detailed chrysanthemum floral motifs throughout. It features weights in the shape of cranes in the Nichiren Shoshu sect style. It comes with the original wooden box.
Rinto is a brass lantern used to light up the inside of a Buddhist altar with candles and some times can be made electric. It is also a beautiful decorative item on its own.
