Vintage Japanese Brushed Lacquer Wood Lidded Serving Dish 

This is a vintage Japanese brushed lacquer wooden box with a lid. It is made of either cedar or cypress and brushed with a clear coat of lacquer to allow the fine natural wood grain to shine through. This piece is used as a serving dish for one of many small and elegant courses during a traditional kaiseki meal set.
