Vintage Japanese Wooden Snack Bowl
This is a Japanese vintage snack bowl, or kashiki, typically used for serving snacks, such as senbei crackers or sweets, to guests in one's home, business, etc. It is also commonly used in tea ceremonies for serving and displaying traditional sweets called namagashi.
With a golden brown stain and clear brushed lacquer varnish, this shallow, classic bowl is made of thin strips of wood glued together and sanded down for a ringed look. It provides both function and beautiful decor in any space.
This was purchased at the famous Osu Antique Market in Nagoya
