Vintage Japanese Kabuto Helmet Display w/Box
This is a vintage Japanese decorative bronze samurai helmet, or kabuto. In the Takeda Shingen style of simple deer antlers, it has gold-painted metal maedate. The curled sides, or fukikaeshi, depict stitching marks as well as a simple diamond design. At the top, instead of an ornament is a mane of long hair made of fine fibers of straw. It has an orange pair of tassels tied at the base. It can be disassembled. It contains a brocade silk red and gold pillow and a wooden panel stating it is the Takeda Shingen style. The original box is included.
