Antique Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Lacquer Offering Table
This is an antique Japanese Buddhist altar fitting wooden offering table Maejyoku. It is coated with gold and black lacquer. The table top can be removed. In the case of memorial services, a piece of cloth called Uchishiki is inserted here. There are two types of offering tables Maejyoku and Uwajyoku. Maejoku is placed in front of the Shumidan. It is used for 3 Gusoku (candle stand, flower vase, and incense burner). Uwajoku is placed in front of Amidanyorai. It is used for a flower vase, a rice cup, and a kasha incense burner.
