Antique Japanese Porcelain Bowl
This is a Japanese antique porcelain bowl. The age of the pottery can be roughly understood by looking at the bottom. From the late Edo period to the early Meiji period, it was made using a manufacturing method that did not apply glaze to the bottom to prevent it from sticking to the kiln. It looks like a snake's eye so it is called Janome-Kodai. There are sesame spots (Goma) and dust marks. Sesame and dust marks are spots where ash falls when fired in a kiln.
