This is a Japanese Nambu tekki cast iron kettle Tetsubin. A kettle with a handle and a spout was used for medicinal purposes in the 13th century, but it is said that it was named 'Tetsubin' and began to be used in tea ceremonies in the late Edo period. Efficacy: Boiling water in an iron kettle (Tetsubin) makes the water milder and tastier, as well as providing iron.
