Vtg Japanese Ainu Wood-Carved Statue Okimono Pair
This is a vintage Japanese Hokkaido Ainu wood-carving pair of small Nipopo dolls. "Nipopo" means "little tree child" or "doll" in the Ainu language, and is believed to grant any wish and bring happiness. They often come in pairs with a male and a female shape. These wooden statues also showcase traditional Ainu clothing and accessories.
