Vintage Japanese Katagami of Hokusai's Great Wave w/ Wood Frame

In a simple brown wood frame, this Ise katagami textile stencil made from mulberry paper displays the image of the famous The Great Wave Off Kanagawa by artist Hokusai. This particular piece uses gold and silver paper laid underneath to put emphasis on Mt. Fuji in the background.
While katagami is typically used for printing images on fabrics such as kimono, it has become a popular item to frame and or further decorate for wall art. As such, its intricate designs made by hand-cutting the paper make it a beautiful piece to use in home and office decor.
The katagami design is adhered to a cardstock back.
