Vtg Japanese Paperweight
This item is a vintage Japanese paperweight. This particular item has the following characters engraved on the bottom : 岐阜刑務所落成記念 Gifu keimusho rakusei kinen, meaning "Celebration of the completion of the construction of the Gifu penitentiary". This paperweight was given as a commemorative item to workers who helped building the prison. This paperweight made of iron is heavy and has a large size, making it perfect to hold down larger pieces of paper. Its wavy design makes it a nice decorative item.
