Vintage Japanese Lacquered Wooden Snack Bowl
This is a Japanese vintage lacquered wooden snack bowl, or Kashiki, typically used for serving snacks, such as senbei crackers or sweets, to guests in one's home, business, etc. It is also commonly used in tea ceremonies for serving and displaying traditional sweets called namagashi.
A shining reddish-brown with subtle natural wood grain, this sturdy round bowl lifted by a thick base provides both function and beautiful decor.
This was purchased at the famous Osu Antique Market in Nagoya
