Vtg Japanese Wooden Daruma Carving
This is a Japanese brushed lacquer carved wooden image of Daruma, a famous monk of Zen Buddhism. He is more modernly associated with daruma dolls made of paper mache that symbolize perseverance, luck, and goal-making. He is seen here holding a white fly whisk (called byakuhotsu) that is a token of authority. This beautiful piece can be hung on a wall.
