Vintage Japanese Lacquered Kimono Storage Basket

Made from thin strips of bamboo, this vintage Japanese handwoven lidded basket is made primarily for the storage of kimono or other traditional clothing. Lacquered with the caramel brown color of classic Hida Shunkei lacquerware, this shallow storage container also has a decorative panel of black calligraphy kanji on the inside. The two pieces fit well together and also can be used as separate baskets for organizing or presentation.
