Vintage Japanese Pottery Sake Bottle Kayoi-Tokkuri 

This is a vintage Japanese ceramic sake bottle. It is called a Kayoi-Tokkuri and is used to pour sake. The commuting sake bottle became popular as a rental container for liquor stores in the Edo period when sake began to be consumed on a daily basis. This bottle is brown with some white Japanese kanji characters on the outside. There is also a rope tied around the top for decoration/carrying.
