Japanese Porcelain Incense Burner
This is a vintage Japanese Buddhist porcelain incense burner (koro) commonly used in Buddhist altars. It is a bright blue with an unglazed inside and bottom. It stands on three short feet. It is used for burning incense powder or sticks. Burning incense is a means of purifying the body of the worshiper.
