Vtg Japanese Buddhist Altar Decorative Kouran Railing
This is a vintage Japanese part of a Buddhist altar called kouran. It is the decorative railing that decorates the front part of the top step of the butsudan. It is a set of four pieces made of wood; two large angled pieces and two small end pieces. It is lacquered with a rich crimson red and the bottom base is natural wood. In addition to gold painted accents, there are small brass plate embellishments on the posts of each piece. It can be used as spare parts for repair or as a general decoration.
